As usual, SFBA will be doing a big club purchase of fertilized queens and bees this spring and offering them to members at a favorable price.
The latest update is that the bee pack delivery will likely take place on Saturday May 12, nearly a month later than usual.
The late frost and wet weather are delaying the normal mating season and our supplier wants to make sure he has enough dry weather so that the queens get fully fertilized during their mating flight. (A new queen needs to mate with 20-25 drones to be a good layer.)
So stay tuned to your SFBA member emails and this page for more details on when/how to order as they develop.
And remember, your 2018 dues must be paid up to participate, so if you haven’t already done so, please join or renew now.
